Lance Corporal Jack Aldred, 4 Troop, was one of the Commando contingent emabarked on Motor Launch ML 443 for Operation Chariot, the raid at St Nazaire 28March 1942. He was evacuated back to the UK after the raid [1].

4 March 1941 attached No.2 Commando.
22 April 1943 disembarked Gibraltar.
18 July 1943 embarked Gibraltar for Sicily.
24 November 1944 'X2' List Central Mediterranean Force (CMF).
28 December 1944 evacuated to UK - 'Y' List.
25 November 1945 Released from Service.
Post war member of the Commando Association from Bolton. They list his final rank as Sergeant [3].
