Private William Everett, No.3 Commando, was reported missing on 14 July 1943 during operations in Sicily, later confirmed a prisoner of war.
William John Everett joined Cardiff City Police on 31 March 1941. Constable Everett received a commendation in 1941 for "brave conduct in civil defence". The following year he volunteered for commando service and in July 1942 joined the 2nd Police Intake to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre) at Achnacarry. Private Everett was attached to No.3 Commando after completing his training. Re-joined Cardiff City Police on 25 October 1945. Member of the Commando Association.
