William George Dowling was a Fishmonger from New Milton, Hampshire, prior to enlisting on 24 April 1939. Private William Dowling was reported missing between 25 and 28 February 1941 during operations on the occupied Greek island of Kastellorizo, later found to be a prisoner of war
