Private Robert Harper, No.6 Commando, died during operations at Normandy, France. His older brother 1577908 Gunner Frederick William Harper, Royal Artillery, also died in the war. Sons of William and Emma Annie Harper, of Surbiton, Surrey. Older brothers of Edward. Robert had been employed as a General Labourer (Brick Works) before the war. His brother Frederick was a Recreation Grounds Keeper for Surbition Council.
