Raymond Henry Curson from King's Lynn, Norfolk, enlisted into the Royal Marines on 7 June 1937. He volunteered for and joined the newly formed Royal Marine Commando, later re-designated 40RM Commando, after its formation in Febuary 1942. Marine Curson was captured and a prisoner of war on 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France.
