Roger Hilton, an Artist from Northwood, Middlesex, enlisted December 1939 and subsequently volunteered for the commandos. Private Hilton, No.3 Commando, was reported missing on 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, later found to be a prisoner of war.
