Medical Officer for No.12 Commando from formation to early disbandment in 1943 after which he resumed a medical career specialising in plastic surgery [1][3].
June 1973 appointed the OBE (Civil Division) [2][3].
Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (1973), President of the British Association of Plastic Surgeons (1977), Hunterian Professor of the Royal College of Surgeons (1979) [3].
