Private Leonard Lloyd was reported missing during a raid on the French coast later confirmed killed in action. Son of William and Edith May Lloyd, of Blaenavon [1][1a].
The programme for the Winchester Reunion of No 1 Commando lists his name under " Killed or died of wounds as a result of action on the occupied French coast" [2].
At the time of his death men from his Commando had taken part in a raid near Boulogne codenamed Operation Bristle. A newspaper report in the Dundee Evening Telegraph titled Diary of the War states " Thursday June 4 - Commandos landed near Boulogne and gained valuable information." [3]
