Lance Corporal Luke Stannack from Hull was reported missing 2 June 1941 during operations in Crete, later found to be wounded and a prisoner of war. In 1943 he is reported as back in the UK no longer a prisoner.

Notes
He is listed on the Casualty Records as No.4 Commando who did not serve in Crete. However for a short period prior to No.7 Commando's departure for the Middle East the two units had been merged as 3 Special Service Bn. When No.7 departed as part of Layforce a few of the No.4 joined them.
