Lieutenant Jeffrey Charles Beadle was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry, leadership and outstanding determination whilst serving in Commando operations in the Adriatic, specifically the attack on Brac Island (Operation Flounced) 3 June 1944 during which he was wounded and taken prisoner [1][1a][1b].
- 1967 (Major) appointed M.B.E. (Military Division) in the New Year's Honours list [2].
