James Dalziel, 41 Commando
James Henry Dalziel served in 41RM Commando from its formation until its disbandment. Wounded in action on 14 October 1944. Promoted steadily during the course of the war attaining the rank of Acting Temporary Company Sergeant Major on 13 January 1945.
CSM Dalziel received a Commander in Chief's Certificate from Field Marshall Montgomery dated 8 January 1946 for outstanding good service and great devotion to duty during the occupation of Germany.
Service dates
22.05.1941 to 07.07.1941 - RM Reserve Depot, Exmouth.
08.07.1941 to 01.11.1942 - RM Division.
02.11.1942 to 03.01.1946 - 41RM Commando.
04.01.1946 to 03.02.1946 - HBL RM Commando
14.02.1946 to 26.04.1946 - Portsmouth Divison then released in Class 'A'.
