Francis Cleaveley, a Railway Porter from Stroud, Gloucestershire, enlisted 15 September 1939 and later volunteered for the commandos. Private Cleaveley was wounded and missing 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, subsequently confirmed a prisoner of war.
