Major Bevil Charles Alan Napier served in No.11 Commando before it was disbanded in the Middle East after which he returned to his Regiment [1].

  • ​28.06.1961 promoted Lieutenant Colonel, OC 1st Bn., Gordon Highlanders [4].
  • 01.01.1964 OC 1st Bn., Gordon Highlanders, appointed O.B.E. (Military Division) for his leadership, diplomacy, and distinguished service during an operation to support the local police in quelling civil unrest in Swaziland in 1963 [5].
