Mne Andrew Dawes RM
Marine Andy Dawes died in a collision as he drove a military vehicle in a convoy on the A9 near Aviemore in Scotland. Andrew Paul Dawes joined the Royal Marines aged 20 on April 16, 2012. After completing his training, he joined Fleet Protection Group RM in January 2013. He later served on maritime operations around the globe and joined the Motor Transport Troop as a general duties driver in March.
Commanding Officer Colonel Matt Pierson described Andy as a “bright, dedicated young man whose character epitomised the Commando spirit”. Colonel Pierson added,  “His generosity of spirit and personable nature made him a friend to many but he was also professional in all that he undertook and unquestionably he had a fulfilling career ahead of him.”
