Alexander Blasby from Reigate, Surrey, enlisted on 26 June 1939 into the Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey). Posted 29 June 1939 to the Black Watch. After volunteering for the Commandos he was attached to No.6 Commando. Private Blasby was reported missing and a prisoner of war during operations in Tunisia on 26 February 1943 (Battle of Steamroller Farm). Member of the Commando Association. Resettled in Dumbarton post war*.
