Private Alexander Watson from Glasgow died in Dumfries Royal Infirmary as a result of a collision with a lorry whilst riding a pedal cycle on the Kirkcudbright - Gatehouse Road near Kirkchrist Farm, Kirkcudbright. The following day a Court of inquiry was held at the Drill Hall Kirkcudbright to enquire into the circumstances under which he met this death. He was buried on the 23rd October 1941, the burial party comprising 1 full rank NCO and 6 men from 5 troop who acted as Bearers. Son of William and Agnes Watson, of Glasgow.
