Parachute trained No.4 Commando took part in the Dieppe raid. Later transferred to 2 Special Boat Section serving in 'B' Group in the Far East and taking part in canoe operations from submarines including off the coast of Sumatra in 1944 from their base in Ceylon. Post war member of the Commando Association from Haslingden in Rossendale, Lancashire.
