Arthur Muir Sneddon, a Local Government Servant (Public Assistance) from Broxburn, West Lothian, enlisted 15 August 1940 and subsequently volunteered for the commandos. Gunner Sneddon, No.3 Comando, was reported missing 19 August 1942 during operations at Dieppe, France, later confirmed a prisoner of war.
