Marine Bert Woodbine died following the explosion of a mine during operations at Normandy, France. Son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Woodbine, of Tipton, Staffordshire. [1][2][3].

28 Aug - Cdo continued rest period.
29 Aug - Cdo continued rest period. 1500hrs, 3 men from Y tp visiting the Sallenelles strong point were unlucky enough to stand on a mine, killing 2*, and wounded one.
