Historical note
The circumstances of his death are not known to this archive. 40RM Cdo. had taken part in Operation Mercerised in Albania 27 Sept. to 9 Oct. when Sarande was finally attacked and taken. 2 of their Officers and 4 OR's were killed, and 4 Officers and 18 OR's were wounded. At the time of his death they were engaged in policing operations in Corfu (40RM Commando War Diary).
