Albert Edward White 6 Commando
Private Albert White died by drowning during a training exercise in England. Son of Albert Reginald and Daisy Elizabeth White, of Charlton Kings.
Extract from the Cheltenham Chronicle newspaper
"A popular figure in youth circles in Charlton Kings, he was a prominent member of the local football club, while he was also a keen swimmer. He joined the Army in January 1943 having been previously employed by Messrs. R.E. and C. Marshall Ltd., ironmongers of Cheltenham".
