Notes
Marine Joe Blades of 'Y' Troop remembered TSM Leeming as "a big man quite easy to recognise from a distance. Someone you might call a gentle giant as he had never heard a bitter word from him. He had this very soft pleasant Irish accent. He was, like my mate Ken Newby, an ex policeman". (Taylor, The Waist High Cornfield, p.267).
