Captain Frederick Lennard, 'Z' troop, died when his Landing Craft struck beach defences at Normandy, France. He drowned attempting to swim to the shore under heavy enemy fire. Son of William Laurence Arthur and Marie Victoria Lennard, of Mottingham, Kent.
