March 1941 - Captain, No.3 Commando, Mentioned in Despatches, Lofoten Islands [2][2a][3].  
December 1941 - Captain, 5 Troop No.3 Commando [3].
Resided before the war at Waterton House, Ampney Crucis, near Cirencester, and employed at the Stock Exchange [4]
