Arthur Cattle from Lincoln enlisted into the Armed Forces on 6 June 1935. Private Cattle, 52ME Commando was reported missing 2 June 1941 during operations at Crete as part of 'D' Bn., Layforce, later confirmed a prisoner of war. In June 1943 he escaped from a Work Camp that was aligned to Stalag IIID in Berlin but was recaptured 3 days later. After 14 days punishment he was sent to Stalag IVC.
