Islay Cyril Albert Palmer 4 Commando
Private 'Charlie' Palmer volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 aged 19 and was attached to No.4 Commando. He was in 'F' Troop during the Normandy landings on 'D' Day and was later wounded on 20 August 1944 (remaining on duty).
