Lance Cororal Ronald Littler was wounded 11 April 1945 during operations in Western Europe, this date being that of the crossing of the River Aller. Ronald was a Wolverhampton Police Officer who volunteered for the Commandos in 1942 as part of the Police Intakes to the Commando Depot (Commando Basic Training Centre), Achnacarry. Active service included Sicily, Italy, France, and Germany.
In 1944 he married a local girl from Worthing, Miss Ruby Bucke. He re-joined the Police after the war moving to Worthing Division (Pc 471) of West Sussex Constabulary. Member of the Commando Association residing Worthing.
