One of a series of the Magazine of the Third Commando Brigade produced and published between 1944 and 1946 for issue to those serving in the Brigade. This copy from Andy Maines. In a No 1 Commando Newsletter dated 27th Feb 1944 it mentions about the new Brigade Magazine being published. It states that "From this unit Lieut. J.R. Turpin is publishing advisor, and Lieut. A.J. Davies is Art Director on the publishing staff."

50th anniversary of the unveiling of the Commando Memorial, Spean Bridge.
A beautifully produced Service of Remembrance booklet to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the unveiling of the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge by HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on the 27th September 1952. The anniversary commemoration took place during Remembrance weekend on the 9th November 2002.
This Service of Remembrance was attended by HRH Prince Phillip, The Duke of Edinburgh, K.G., K.T.
The booklet contains the history of the Memorial in photographs and narrative and a lot of other information about the Commandos.

Association 1946 1st Reunion Dinner menu
A very nice piece of Commando memorabilia sent in by Max Heron, son of Major John 'Chips' Heron MC, No5 Commando, this is a dinner menu from the first Commando Association Reunion Dinner held on Thursday, 12 December 1946, in Seymour Hall, London W1.It would appear that Chips Heron had his troop members sign it as most of the signatures seem to be from No5 Cdo but there are a few other notable autographs - Henry Brown, Peter Young, Lt General Sturges, Lord Mountbatten of Burma,
Association booklet 1943 - 2005
A beautifully produced Commemorative Souvenir booklet to celebrate the Commando Association, from its formation in 1943 to standown in 2005.
The booklet contains superb photos along with a great deal of information about the history of the Commandos. It is a valuable addition to the information we already have in our Gallery about the original Association.

On the 1st June 2019 the Commando Veterans Association was redesignated as the Commando Association.
