Sergeant Willie De-Waard, No.10 (IA) Commando 2 Troop 'Dutch' was wounded and taken prisoner of war on 24 September 1944 during operations at Oosterbeek, Holland. He was one of the twelve Dutch commandos who were attached to the 1st Airborne for Operation Market Garden at Arnhem.
